Stacking, fusing, moulding and weaving
Restful — the lounging space
Stacking / The Table The main aim was to create a strona surface using stacking and nesting methods. The result of explorations being, a durable, minimal table made using 5 crates. Two crates held together by a smaller crate nested within, resting on two vertial legs. Fusing / The Lounge Chair A simple, durable and lightweight chair, easy to reproduce. The entire chair can be made at a minimum cost of 3 60 depending on the quality of the wood. Assembled using two crates and a handful of planks stacked together making a durable ply. The form accomodates two compartments at the bottom. Weaving / The Paper Rack An outcome of giving function to a material exploration. it has a unique visual language. The paper rack can be reproduced using scrap. The Space To furthur expirement and explore the material, we took up the challenge to make a dome using the crates. To fit the dome in the the Eames Plaza, we truncated the top to make it a semi open space. This helped in developing a subtle transition from the outside to the inside.
